Member Involvement

WSNA is a member-driven organization.

Membership in WSNA allows you to be a part of an active, powerful force for change in your workplace. WSNA local units and the District Nurses Associations provide leadership and professional development opportunities at the workplace and in your local community.  And your local unit membership gives you the right to vote on contracts, be a member of the negotiating team, run for office, and participate in WSNA Committees and Councils.

All WSNA members in good standing, whether or not you are represented for collective bargaining by WSNA, have the right to run for and/or be appointed to the WSNA Board of Directors, WSNA Councils and Committees and as a WSNA delegate to the ANA House of Delegates.  Additionally, all WSNA local unit members have the right to run for the WSNA Cabinet on Economic and General Welfare (CE&GW), and the CE&GW Nominations /Search Committee.

  • WSNA-PAC
    The Washington State Nurses Association-Political Action Committee (WSNA-PAC) is the nonpartisan political action committee of the WSNA.
     
  • Washington State Nurses Foundation
    The Washington State Nurses Foundation (WSNF) was incorporated as a separate entity from the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) in 1982, to operate exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, and educational purposes, within the meaning of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

 

 

Founded in 1908, WSNA is the professional organization representing more than 15,000 registered nurses in Washington State. WSNA effectively advocates for the improvement of health standards and availability of quality health care for all people; promotes high standards for the nursing profession; and advances the professional and economic development of nurses.
