Local Unit Dinner  (12/12/2011)

Thank you to the WSNA Nurses at Yakima Regional that took the time to attend the recent Local Unit Dinner.

It was an evening of great food, fun, education, prizes, and unity.  There were lots of door prizes and we wanted to share with you who were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.  Congratulations to all of the winners.

Daylene Ackerman - PACU won Belgian chocolates

Barb Faith - SDS won a blue basket with gourmet chocolates and goodies, Belgian chocolates and an insulated cold beverage cup with coffee card from YR Latte Bar

Lindy Bullard - OR won a coffee card from YR Latte Bar

Donna Howell - ER won an insulated cold beverage cup wwith coffee card from YR Latte Bar

Tashina Nunez - ER won the Red Christmas tray with Christmas book, coffee mugs, hot spiced cider, candy canes and Dove chocolates

Karen Gamache - Hospice won 2 insulated coffee mugs with coffee cards from YR Latte Bar

Lisa Bullek - SDS won the Fall Basket with large red + large yellow mugs, gourmet hot chocolate mixes, Applets/Cotlets, and caramels

Susan Jacobson - ICU won a coffee card from YR Latte Bar 

And to top all that, at the end of the evening our grand prize winners were:
Connie Heidt works in Rehab and Dave Trevino works in ICU each took home an iPod Shuffle.

We would also like to send a very special Thank You to Karen Gamache who volunteered to be the Local Unit Rep for YR Hospice/Home Health Department.  That's great news. 

If you weren’t able to attend, your Local Unit Officers and WSNA staff would like to encourage you to stay tuned for future WSNA events in your area.
 

Local Unit Officer Update  (5/13/2011)

Congratulations to the newly elected Local Unit Officers. Take a moment to thank them for volunteering to assist the nurses at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. They are there to support you in your nursing practice and to assist with workplace issues.   If you have a question about your contract or have a concern about your working conditions, please get in touch with one of them or your WSNA Nurse Rep.

May and June WSNA Dues  (6/21/2010)

For nurses who selected to pay dues through payroll deduction, the May and June dues will be deducted from your next paycheck.  If you have already sent in a payment for May, only your June dues will be deducted.  Please contact Mary Peterson in Membership Services at WSNA if there are any questions or concerns regarding your WSNA dues.  The usual payment schedule will resume in July.

As soon as we get the final contract, we will be mailing it to you. As in the past years, your contract will be on a CD.  If you would like to view the new contract, click the "downloads" tab.

We will meet on the corner of W. Chestnut Ave & South 8th Ave.
On our last day of negotiations, March 31st, 2010, your WSNA Negotiating Team requested mediation because Hospital Administration is unwilling to reconsider a fair contract proposal. Mediation will be taking place on May 5th & 6th.
NOW is the time for ALL of you to get involved. Bring your family and friends to hold picket signs to support the excellent nurses at Yakima Regional!
