Wal-Mart will open its first in-store clinics in partnership with hospitals this April in Atlanta, GA, and Little Rock, AR, the company announced last week. While Wal-Mart has yet to announce which hospital in Atlanta will be involved, the Arkansas clinic will be owned and operated by St. Vincent Health System. "Our vision of the future is to transform health care for our community," said Peter Banko, St. Vincent president and CEO. "We work every day towards that vision and the clinics that we will operate in Wal-Mart Supercenters will be a great solution for patients who come to us for health and healing." The clinics will operate seven days a week. Last April, Wal-Mart announced plans to contract with hospitals and other organizations to open up to 400 additional health clinics in its stores by 2010.
