Washington State Nurses Foundation

The Washington State Nurses Foundation (WSNF) was incorporated as a separate entity from the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) in 1982, to operate exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, and educational purposes, within the meaning of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Five visionary registered nurses from Washington state, Nancy Cherry, Nadyne Davis, Jan Holloway, Beverly Jacobson, and Sue Loper-Powers, served as the original Board of Trustees. Due to the foresight and commitment of the founders, current Board of Trustees and those appointed over the last 17 years, the Foundation in 1999 is experiencing significant growth in community interest and financial support.

The mission of the Foundation is to fund raise; acquiring and developing funds for the clinical, literary, scientific, and educational advancement of the nursing profession.

The primary goal of the Washington State Nurses Foundation is to advance the nursing profession and facilitate nursing's contribution to the health of the community.
