This eight-hour class is intended to be a resource for nurses preparing to take the PNCB or ANCC pediatric nursing certification exam (CPN or RN-BC). The course will provide an overview of content specific to pediatric nursing, including growth and development, health promotion and disease prevention, as well as illness management for chronic and acute conditions.

  • Growth and Development
  • Neurological Conditions
  • Respiratory Conditions
  • Gastrointestinal Conditions
  • Endocrine Disorders
  • Cardiovascular Conditions

Course Objectives:

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the two nursing organizations that offer certification exams
  • Identify the stages of growth and development
  • Discuss pediatric infectious diseases, neurological, respiratory, digestive, endocrine and cardiac conditions
