Description: Learn to identify and treat opioid use disorder (OUD), prescribe buprenorphine and utilize urine drug screening in this case-based primary care course sponsored by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. This six-hour workshop completes 4 hours of training towards the 24 required for ARNPs to prescribe buprenorphine (the rest of the training can be completed online). Includes an approach to chronic pain and opioid use disorder treatment through case study analysis.

Available credit: 6 Contact hours/6 Pharmacology hours at the advanced practice level

This is a component of the buprenorphine waiver course.
