Attention union leaders: Registration for this event is now closed! We are excited to announce that all available spots have been filled. Thank you for your enthusiastic response and commitment to furthering your leadership skills. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any additional registrations at this time. Please stay tuned for future training opportunities and initiatives. Your dedication is greatly appreciated!
Join us at the inspiring WSNA Leadership Conference at Campbell’s Resort in Chelan.
The three-day event is open to anyone who is a union member with WSNA and wants to become more active in the union. The conference starts at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28, and ends at 12:30 p.m. April 30. Our theme is Champions of Change.
Participants will learn the skills needed to be an effective union advocate, hear from inspiring leaders in the labor movement, and network with colleagues across the state. A celebration event will honor many people who have stepped up since early 2022, and we encourage participants to wear a costume representing Champions of Change.
The year 2023 was an incredible year for labor, and WSNA members have been a part of that movement and won some awesome victories. Come and hear their stories.
“By standing together, we can win better contracts,” said Edna Cortez, chair of WSNA’s Labor Executive Council. “This conference is a great way to help you be better leaders in the workplace.”
We can’t wait to see you in Chelan!

In this training you will learn what constitutes a grievance, differentiating between a grievance vs a violation of law, UFPs, and the framework of a typical grievance process from start to finish per a typical CBA. Presenters: Barb Friesen, Carmen Garrison
Advocating for Equity Description: Ready to make a difference in your workplace?
This session will equip you with tools, strategies, and confidence to advocate effectively for DEI as a bargaining unit member. Vision to Victory: How to Organize Non-Union Nurses

We'll cover the basics of how to form a union, explore successful case studies from newly organized WSNA nurses, and discuss different organizing strategies. You'll leave this session equipped with the essential tools to grow our union and empower your fellow nurses. Presenter: Ryan Rosenkranz, Grace LaMonte
Awards
We have seven categories: Outstanding Local Unit Chair, Adversity, Outstanding Negotiating Team, Outstanding Grievance Officer, Local Unit Star, Membership, and Emeritus.
Costume Party
One of the highlights of our Union Leadership Conference is the reception and awards dinner. Attendees often dress up for the dinner in a theme-related costume. What does a Champion of Change mean to you? You’re invited to get creative! (Some people aren’t into getting in costume, which is fine.)
This event is open only to WSNA members represented for collective bargaining.
