Nurses House, Inc. is launching its eighth annual Dolphins for Nurses campaign to raise funds for registered nurses in need from April 12 to May 12. Nurses House, Inc. is the only national fund for registered nurses focused on raising funds for nursing colleagues facing serious illness or injury by offering paper dolphins in exchange for $1, $5 or $10 donations.

Individuals and groups can also raise funds online at www.nurseshouse.org during the monthlong period. If you or your group is interested in participating in the Dolphins for Nurses fundraising campaign by hosting a fundraiser during Nurses Week or the month leading up to it, simply contact Stephanie Dague, Director of Development, at sdague@nurseshouse.org or (518) 456-7858 x127 for a packet. Nurses House will provide all the necessary materials to host an exciting and successful fundraiser for your colleagues in need which can easily be incorporated into existing Nurses Week activities.

Funds provided by Nurses House to an RN in need can be used for housing and medical expenses, such as rent or mortgage payments, health insurance premiums, medical bills and prescription medications. Any RN residing in the U.S. who is facing a hardship situation and whose monthly income is insufficient to meet his or her basic needs is encouraged to apply. Applications are available on the Nurses House website www.nurseshouse.org or by calling (518) 456-7858.

Nurses House, Inc. is the only national 501(c)3 organization providing financial assistance to RNs in need. The organization’s sole mission is to provide short-term aid to nurses who are unable to support themselves financially as a result of illness, injury or other catastrophic event. Since Nurses House began offering aid to nurses in the 1960s the organization has helped thousands of nurses in all 50 states regain health and productivity. In the past three years alone, Nurses House has distributed grants totaling over $500,000 to RNs in need.
