Latest Bureau of Labor Statistics profiles of RNs and ARNPs

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has profiles of different occupations that include Top 5 lists for states with the most workers in those occupations and states that have the highest mean wages for the occupations. We took a look at the BLS profiles for Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners and discovered that Washington didn't make the Top 5 for any of the profile lists. So, we went in and created tables that included all states to see where Washington ranked. The annual mean wages for Registered Nurses by state show Washington coming in at 10th in the nation, behind top ranked California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Alaska and Oregon. Annual mean wages for Nurse Practitioners by state place Washington in 17th place, with the same states ranking at the top of the list, although in a slightly different order: California, Alaska, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Oregon.

You can create your own tables on the BLS website by going to their Create Customized Tables link.
