Come meet the new officers and get together with your co-workers
April 15, 2024
7:00pm to 9:00pm
Ground Control
10 N Wenatchee Ave
Wenatchee, WA 98801
On Monday, April 15, your WSNA officers will be hosting a local engagement get together at Ground Control located at 10 N. Wenatchee Ave. Festivities start at 7 p.m. and we hope to see you there.
Conference Committee and Nurse Staffing Committee are now held on the same day.
April 15, both meetings will take place in conference rooms F and G. If you are an observer for either, please find seating along the wall of the room.
Conference Committee – 11 a.m. – noon, rooms F and G
Nurse Staffing Committee – Nurses commence at 2 p.m. The meeting runs until 5 p.m. in conference rooms F and G.
As you may recall our colleagues at the Mares campus voted to join WSNA in July of 2023. We have held ten sessions to date with more to come. If you would like to help support their bargaining team by donating lunch or other snacks please reach out to Jenny Galassi, nurse organizer, at jgalassi@wsna.org.
Pool step placement and SOU staffing step two arguments have been completed. We have filed these grievances secondary to staffing levels on SOU and pool nurses denied step advancement.
Briefs (written arguments) are due to the arbitrator in April, we do not expect a decision in the case of nurses who were placed on indefinite LOA due to a medical or religious accommodation until mid to late summer.
Chair – Paul Stamilio (Pool – ICU/ED)
Co-Chair – Stefanie Gates (PACU)
Treasurer – Simon Morton (SOU)
Secretary – Karen Doiron (Pool – MOU)
Grievance Officers – Brittney Lamb (Pool – ED), Isaiah Ray (ICU)
Membership Officers – Paul Molenaar (ED), Open Appointment
The elected officers will vet and appoint the open officer position. As a reminder you do not have to be an officer to be involved. There are many ways to get excited about your union and what you can accomplish together. Want to know more? Join us on the 15th at Ground Control.
It has been my pleasure to get to know the nurses of Wenatchee. As of April 15, Laurie Robinson will be the WSNA nurse representative as I transition back to full time bedside nursing.
Laurie is a veteran nurse with over 30 years of ED and trauma coordinator experience, and years as a WSNA grievance officer before becoming WSNA staff. She has been a nurse representative for over three years and has been representing the nurses at Astria, Kadlec, Walla Walla Veteran’s Home, and the Benton Franklin Health District.
She can be reached by email at lrobinson@wsna.org or by phone/text 206-620-4136.

Join nurses from around the state as we convene to learn, build, celebrate and strategize.
If you find yourself in a situation that you believe creates unsafe conditions for patients or for you, you should complete a Staffing Complaint / ADO Form as soon as possible.
By completing the form, you will help make the problem known to management, creating an opportunity for the problem to be addressed. Additionally, you will be documenting the facts, which may be helpful to you later if there is a negative outcome.
WSNA also uses your ADO forms to track the problems occurring in your facility. When you and your coworkers take the important step of filling out an ADO form, you are helping to identify whether there is a pattern of unsafe conditions for you or your patients at your facilities. This information is used by your conference committee, staffing committee, and WSNA labor staff to improve your working conditions.
As a union member, you have the right to have a representative present in any meetings with management that could potentially lead to disciplinary action against you.
If called into a meeting with management, read the following to management when the meeting begins:
If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, I respectfully request that my union representative be present at this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate in this discussion.
Find out more about this crucial right and how to exercise it to ensure your fair treatment and protection.
