Candlelight vigil for awareness of workplace violence and pediatric mental health at Seattle Children’s

When: Dec. 12, 6-8:30 p.m.

Where:  Laurelhurst Playfield (NW corner) at N.E. 45^th St. and 45^th Ave. See timeline below. People will gather on playfield and listen to speakers.

Why: Want to bring attention to workplace violence on the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit and Seattle Children's and the pediatric mental health crisis. The vigil is taking place the night before the Dec. 13 Nurse Conference Committee with hospital leadership.

Speakers:

• Two nurses on the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit
• Rep. Gerry Pollet (D-46^th LD).

Timeline: 

• 6 p.m. – People arrive
• 6:30 – 7 p.m. – Speakers at Laurelhurst Playfield
• 7 – 8 p.m. – Nurses will use megaphones to read accounts of workplace violence.
