Nurses at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup have reached a tentative contract agreement, following threat of a strike.

Ninety-five percent of the hospital's 750 union nurses represented by the Washington State Nurses Association approved a strike authorization vote Wednesday night, citing stalled negotiations with the Tacoma-based health system. But by early Thursday morning hospital management and the union reached a tentative deal that bolsters staffing requirements and grants raises and retention bonuses.
