PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Nurses at one southwest Washington hospital took to an informational picket line on Thursday after their contract expired nearly two months ago, impacting nearly 1,500 nurses, and they have not been able to reach a new agreement with management.

Many nurses at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver said there is no shortage of reasons why they love what they do.

Duncan Camacho is an ICU nurse and member of the Washington State Nurses Association bargaining team.

“I’ve been a nurse now for about six years and I’m currently in ICU,” Camacho said. “I love taking care of people.”
