Health care workers warned they could lose jobs for speaking out amid coronavirus crisis

At least one veteran emergency room doctor already has been fired in Washington state for publicly criticizing his hospital in a Facebook post.

Dr. Ming Lin was terminated by PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham after he went public with his call for the hospital to set up an “outside mini triage” and set up “parking lot collection” of coronavirus tests.

"Hospitals are muzzling nurses and other health-care workers in an attempt to preserve their image,” Ruth Schubert, a spokeswoman for the Washington State Nurses Association, told Bloomberg. “It is outrageous.”
