News you can use: Bargaining Monday Dec. 9, session #24

Late Wednesday we were able to secure a hybrid bargaining session with Management and the Federal mediator. At our last session management expressed their desire to meet with the mediator prior to responding to our recent proposals. This session will be on Monday Dec. 9. The federal mediator will be present virtually and we expect them to spend much of the day working with management to counter the proposals that are in their court. We are hoping to make some progress and potentially even have some tentative agreements to share with you. Stay tuned for that bargaining update Tuesday.

Thank you, Mares nurses!

The bargaining team wants to take a moment to thank you for your support over these past 12 months. We knew going into negotiations that first contracts take time, which is why our entire bargaining unit worked hard to be ready on day one of bargaining last December. We’d hoped to beat the odds and reach an agreement quickly,  especially since management sent you a letter about their merger months prior to when you overwhelmingly elected a union to represent you for collective bargaining.

It has been almost a year of bargaining, and we know you are ready to return your focus to patient care and taking care of our community. Your bargaining team definitely is!

We need your help to push management to finish the job. Let’s cross the finish line together.

Wenatchee Car Signs version 2 no bug

How you can help

  1. Wenatchee Loves Nurses- Are your signs in your car or out in the community? Please continue to ask local businesses and friends to support nurses and place it in their window. These signs of unity show management that the community is behind you!
  2. Observers play a key role on the bargaining team and show management that the nurses at Mares are paying attention. If you are available Monday and wish to join our hybrid session via Teams. Please text or email Jenny Galassi, 206-707-2948, jgalassi@wsna.org.
  3. Wear your WSNA blue T shirt Monday and show your support from the inside! Take a picture and send it to mares@wsna.org. We are still accepting pics for our Pybus buck’s raffle! Keep them coming.
