A friendly reminder from the WSNA-PAC Board that today, Tuesday, November 5, is Election Day – no postage is required to mail your ballot!

While most candidates on the ballot are running in local races, such as county council/commissioner, city council, school board, etc. – the WSNA-PAC has endorsed candidates in two special election legislative races. Those are:

  • 13thLegislative District (Kittitas, Lincoln, Grant counties) - The WSNA-PAC endorsed Representative Alex Ybarra (R) in this race. Rep. Ybarra was appointed to fill the position vacated by Rep. Matt Manweller. During his first session, Rep. Ybarra had a 100% voting record on WSNA priorities, including support for breaks and overtime protections (SHB 1155) in every House vote. You can read more about his background here.
  • 40thLegislative District (San Juan County, part of Whatcom and Skagit counties) - The WSNA-PAC endorsed Senator Liz Lovelett (D) in this race. Senator Lovelett was appointed to fill the position vacated by Senator Kevin Ranker. During her first session, Senator Lovelett had a 100% voting record on WSNA priorities and was a strong advocate for nurses as we fought to pass breaks and overtime protections (SHB 1155). You can read more about her background here.

Turn those ballots in – when nurses vote, we all win!
