WSNA statement on Children’s Hospital helicopter restrictions

Critically ill children need rapid access to hospital care. Helicopter flights to Seattle Children’s Hospital serve that need for children and families throughout the region. Those flights must be able to land at the hospital’s helipad. The Washington State Nurses Association, which represents nurses at Seattle Children’s, supports efforts to ensure that all children in need of immediate care will receive it without undue restriction or second-guessing. In this way, Seattle Children’s, its nurses and physicians, can provide the life-saving care that serves all communities.
