Good Samaritan Hospital nurses in Puyallup approve contract with MultiCare

MultiCare Tuesday after months of bargaining. 1,100 nurses who are represented by the Washington State Nurses Association ratified a contract with the company. The new contract includes:

Higher wages that amount to an average increase of 15 percent over the three-year contract

Ending having clinical assistant nurse managers doing the job of a charge nurse

Ensuring nurses with 15 years or more of experience will not have severance cut.

A union spokesperson said MultiCare had proposals to cut severance pay for these Good Samaritan nurses. “MultiCare Health System is pleased to announce that represented nurses at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital have voted to ratify our agreement with WSNA. The agreement reflects the high value we place on our team members and their dedication in offering exceptional care for our patients,” according to an email statement that MultiCare shared with The News Tribune.
