Introducing your newly appointed WSNA Secretary/Treasurer! Your local unit officers and WSNA staff are so excited to welcome Evie in her new role. Please share in congratulations and support for Evie 😊

"Hi all!

My name is Evie, and I am a public health nurse with the Nurse-Family Partnership at Downtown. I'm very passionate about advocacy, community, and relationship-building, and I'm eager to be a union officer to keep working towards a culture of transparency, respect, and equity with our employer.

I’ve been a site rep at Downtown for our union since a few months after starting here in 2023. I realized how to become a union member myself, which motivated me to become a site rep. That way, I can make sure all newly onboarded nurses know about their union access. I've also worked in other unionized positions at other organizations, and I've noticed a less transparent relationship between union and management here. To bridge this gap, I believe it's important to have staff nurses who can communicate our needs to each other, and also relay responses from management, so we can unite and ensure our voices are heard."
