WSNA has been working with the UWMC to insure that nurses receive the correct information regarding filing L & I claims for presumptive eligibility around COVID after some nurses had reported receiving information that they could not file a claim. The UW has provided WSNA with this link with helpful information and resources if you need to file any type of L & I workers’ compensation claim. https://risk.uw.edu/wc WSNA had understood that the UW NW was self-insured however, we were informed that is no longer the case so you are able to file a claim in multiple ways, not just through the UW. This means the process described yesterday for a claim suppression is no longer applicable. Please refer to the Go to Info if you have questions about what to do if your claim is denied by L & I.
