News you can use: Mares RNs Make Huge Wage Gains with Step Adjustments

Hello Mares RNs and happy Friday. In our newsletter today we are tackling a couple more questions about contracts.

Q: What’s the difference between a contract, a CBA, and an MOU? Isn’t a contract stronger than an MOU?

Q: How would we use an MOU to incorporate Mares nurses into the Central bargaining unit?

Check out the answers to those questions in Labor Union 101, on page 2.

Central Campus RNs bargaining update

We also want to provide an update on where Central Campus is at in their negotiations. They’ve been at the table since February and completed 11 sessions. You can read their bargaining updates on the WSNA Central Campus Local unit page. Click here or search WSNA Central anytime.

Since it’s been nearly 6 months and they haven’t reached a full tentative agreement, the bargaining unit is fired up about important issues that affect both Central and Mares. They have officially launched a Petition. We can all support the Wenatchee Valley nurses and the community we serve together by signing it and getting the word out! We are stronger together.
