KVH Clinic Nurses Continue Their Fight for Representation:

Clinic Nurse Update: We’ve completed the PERC hearing and are moving through the final steps of the process. Briefs are expected by mid-November, followed by a decision from PERC. KVH still has the opportunity to reach a resolution with WSNA in the meantime, but the employer has indicated they want to continue the process.

Grievance Update:

KVH In-Lieu Grievance Update

WSNA has advanced the KVH In-Lieu grievance to arbitration. We remain committed to advocating for a fair resolution and enforcing the rights of nurses under the CBA. We will continue to keep members informed as the grievance moves through the arbitration process. Nurses should be able to take an unpaid vacation. It seems that only KVH remains to hold fast that these nurses do not deserve a vacation.

Work on Day Off Grievance Settled!

WSNA and KVH have reached a settlement regarding Work on Day Off pay.

Under the settlement, an eligible nurse will be considered “called in on their day off” when they commit to an additional shift within 10 calendar days of the start of that shift, including when the nurse volunteers for or picks up the additional shift and KVH approves it.

📅 When does this start?

The MOU was fully signed on October 14, 2026. The agreement states that it becomes effective with the first full pay period following execution by both parties.

That means the new agreement takes effect October 19, 2026.

  • MOU signed: October 14
  • Current pay period ends: October 18
  • New WODO agreement begins: October 19
  • First paycheck reflecting the new agreement: November 6

What does this mean for nurses?

Beginning October 19, eligible additional shifts will be evaluated under the new 10-calendar-day standard.

Example: If you pick up an additional shift that starts within 10 calendar days and KVH approves the shift, 9.12 language would apply.

This settlement provides important clarification around when voluntarily picking up an additional shift qualifies as being called in on a day off.

Know your contract. Check your pay. Contact WSNA if you have questions about whether 9.12 pay should apply to a shift you picked up.

Lauren McCluskey Race for CAMPUS SAFETY

Lauren McCluskey was a 21-year-old Pullman native and University of Utah student, standout track and field athlete, and communications major. In October 2018, she was murdered on the University of Utah campus by a former boyfriend after she had repeatedly sought help regarding stalking, harassment, and threats. Her death drew national attention and led to significant scrutiny of campus safety practices and law enforcement responses to reports of stalking and intimate partner violence.

Following her death, her family became advocates for campus safety reform. The Lauren McCluskey Foundation was established to promote student safety, support victims of relationship violence and stalking, and advance policy changes aimed at preventing similar tragedies

We are looking for 12 nurses to volunteer with us on Saturday October 17, 2026. This is our third-year partnership with the Lauren McCluskey Foundation to provide basic first aid and water stations on their racecourse. This event focuses on increasing campus safety awareness related to domestic violence reporting in honor of Lauren McCluskey. All supplies will be provided including T-shirts and a free lunch! Commitment is roughly 9 am -1 pm. TEXT Laurie Robinson or Jenny Galassi  ASAP if you want to participate.
