We Have a Deal!

After more than 100 hours at the table and countless hours picketing, sign making, food driving, petitioning and showing up, WE HAVE A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT ON OUR CONTRACT!!! We have a deal we can recommend to the Nurses of Mary Bridge NICU. Here are some highlights:

  • An average wage increase of 15.46% over three years
  • LPN and International Nurse restep to match experience.
  • No BSN requirement for existing nurse.
  • Staffing standards that align with AWHONN, NANN and AAP guidelines, bread buddy restrictions and guaranteed breaks. This includes a verbal and enforceable commitment to keep 4 combos from coming to the unit.
  • No Floating.
  • Increased control over our staffing plans in staffing committee.

While we didn’t get everything we wanted (our CANM fight continues in arbitration, details TBD) we were able to accomplish a lot.

For a full summary of changes, please see this document.

We will hold a digital vote on Friday 2/6 open from 0600-1600. Full draft of the contract will be available to review with your ballot, if not sometime next week.

We will be answering questions, including why we recommend to ratify, and giving more information at The Round Up on Wednesday, 2/4 at 2000:
