Local Unit Rules Passed Unanimously

Last week, Mary Bridge NICU nurses voted unanimously to adopt our new Local Unit Rules. These rules establish how our local unit operates, including how nominations and officer elections are conducted. Thank you to everyone who participated in the vote and helped move our union forward.

Now it is time to open nominations for Local Unit officers. Any WSNA Mary Bridge NICU RN in good standing, including Case Managers and Lactation RNs, may be nominated or self-nominate for any position.

Your elected officers play a critical role in building the strength of our local unit. Officers help determine bargaining unit priorities, lead local unit meetings, represent nurses at Conference Committee meetings with management, help enforce the contract, and decide how local unit funds are used. Strong leadership from engaged nurses is essential to building the union power we need to advocate for ourselves, our patients, and our profession.

The following positions are now open for nomination through June 5, 2026:

• Co-Chair
• Co-Chair
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Grievance Officer
• Membership Officer

Candidates are welcome to campaign for election, however local unit funds may not be used for campaign purposes.

If you have questions about running for office or what the positions involve, please contact Nurse Representative Jared Richardson at JRichardson@WSNA.org.
