Case Manager Vote Happening Now

The vote to incorporate the Mary Bridge Case Managers into our union contract is happening now and will remain open until 1600 today.

Bringing the Case Managers into our contract strengthens all of us. It expands our collective power and ensures our fellow nurses in the Case Manager unit have access to union wages, seniority rights, just cause protections, and the full strength of a union contract.

We strongly encourage a YES vote. Ballots were sent to your personal email, the same way the contract ratification vote was conducted. Stand with your fellow nurses and cast your vote before polls close at 1600 today.

In-Person Union Time Tomorrow, 0630-0830

Nurse Representative Jared Richardson and elected union officers from the NICU will be in the Family Education Room tomorrow, April 24, from 0630-0830.

We will have snacks, breakfast treats, and time to talk. Stop by with questions, concerns, ideas, or just to connect with your union team.

We will also be launching our No Skeleton Crew safe staffing campaign. This campaign is focused on pressuring MultiCare to raise incentive pay high enough to bring nurses in on their days off and to provide enough break relief staffing to end reliance on break buddies, as required by our contract.

Come see us tomorrow to learn more and get involved.

Management Denies Breakroom Access

MultiCare is denying access to the breakroom where we originally planned to meet.

We chose that space because NICU nurses have made it clear that current staffing levels often leave little time to even reach the breakroom, let alone leave the unit. That reality speaks for itself.

We have filed a grievance over the denial and are also exploring an unfair labor practice charge.

ADOs and Hospital Staffing Committee

The ADOs you are filing are making a difference. Keep them coming.

Management is required to bring every ADO forward to the Hospital Staffing Committee, and those concerns must be addressed or resolved within 90 days.

The pressure nurses are creating is being felt. Continue filing ADOs whenever staffing is unsafe, assignments are too high acuity, or you are forced to rely on a break buddy to take a break.

Every ADO documents the truth. Every form builds accountability. Every nurse who speaks up strengthens all of us. When we stand together and act together, we win together.
