WSNA Blue Looks Good on You!

Our fellow Tacoma General WSNA Nurses have sponsored us to buy WSNA t-shirts. Scan the QR code or follow this link to input your information and get your shirt. We want every WSNA nurse to have a shirt as we continue to build solidarity in our unit.
Join the Local Unit Meeting
We will be hosting a virtual Teams local unit meeting on Thursday May 8, 2025. Nurses can join at 8 am or 8 pm. This is an opportunity for all nurses in our WSNA unit to drop in and learn about the issues we are working on. We will discuss current grievances, the staffing frustrations related to the operational charge nurse role, meals and rest breaks and whatever nurses bring us. Link to follow.
Meet Our Member
Rosie Robertson is a WSNA Mary Bridge NICU nurse and our local grievance officer. Read more about her story below.

I was born at Tacoma General and completed my nursing at Seattle University about 6 years ago. While I didn’t exactly know I wanted to be a nurse, I have always had an affinity for caring for infants and science. The NICU is my first nursing job, and I learned shortly after starting that my grandma worked at Tacoma General as a phlebotomist. Working in NICU is an amazing career and while I love snuggling our smallest patients, their perseverance and the hope for them keeps me fulfilled in this career.
In my free time, I love to read and love baseball- huge Red Sox fan. My list of road trips I have taken and would love to take continues to grow. I love to spend time with my children and foster medically fragile infants. Disney parks have a special place in my heart, and I enjoy visiting them with family.
I became more involved with WSNA when I joined the bargaining team. Crystal and I spent countless hours researching languages and fighting for proposals to help build our contract. It was really eye opening to see behind the scenes- how management would like to staff our unit, how corners get cut, and how the bottom line really matters. My moral compass is strong and at times, I felt like the rug was being pulled out from under us. In my current role as the grievance officer, I am learning how to file contract violations and hold MultiCare accountable to our contract.
Solidarity means standing up for patients’ rights and our rights. Creating a better work environment to ensure we receive breaks, fair wages, and adequate rest. It also means advocating so that we maintain safe systems for floating and cross training assignments. I would ask every nurse in my unit to join WSNA today if you haven’t and come to a local unit meeting. Nurses are our union.
