Bargaining update - Day 7

Yesterday your bargaining team met with hospital management for our seventh day at the bargaining table. We continued to make slow progress on issues. Premium pay was a big topic of conversation, both sides conveyed that premium pay was of great importance!

Both sides have agreed to bring in a federal mediator for our final 2 sessions prior to expiration. We hope that the mediator will be effective in helping to bridge gaps.

Thank you for signing the petition to management! Over 90% of you signed! We delivered the petition and drove home the message that the WSNA members at St. John are standing with all of us at the bargaining table.  PeaceHealth management insists that they want to get a deal that works for you before the contract expires at the end of the month.

Did you know that the law restricts when mandatory OT may be used including mandatory call back that triggers OT?

We have a limited supply of lawn signs and window signs!

We have a limited number of negotiation-related yard and window signs available! Priority will be given to nurses who live near the hospital and major thorough fares. Contact WSNA Co-Chair Elena Brent at elenab.wsna@gmail.com if you would like a sign.

Join us later today for updates, next steps, and more!

Every week during negotiations your bargaining team will be hosting virtual union meetings on Wednesdays from 1800-1900 to give updates on negotiations, hear comments and answer questions! This meeting has become affectionately known as “The John Talk”. Join us to learn more about how to effectively show your solidarity!
