(Changes agreed to in bargaining on January 7, 2022 are in italics)

  • NEW – Ghost steps at Step 15, Step 20, Step 25, and Step 28 will be filled in. These new steps will be the average rate between the step preceding and the step following (e.g., new Step 20 will be the average of Step 18 and Step 22). Effective first full pay period following ratification. (Previously, no ghost steps were filled in.)
  • NEW New seniority step added at Step 34 – this will be 1.5% higher than Step 32. Effective first full pay period following ratification. (Previously, no additional seniority steps were added.)
  • 3% first full pay period after 10/1/21 (retro pay remains in place), 3.25% first full pay period after 10/1/22 (previously, 3%), & 3% first full pay period after 10/1/23.
  • $1,000 bonus first full pay period after ratification for all RNs (approximately equivalent to a 1% raise based on the average St. John RN wage rate – previously, this had been only for Steps 8 and above) PLUS another $1,500 (was $1,000) bonus paid the first full pay period following the 6-month anniversary of ratification (previously, was going to be paid in November 2022) for RNs who didn’t receive a market adjustment in addition to across-the-board raises. Nurses must be employed at St. John’s and a member of the bargaining unit on the date of ratification and on the date of the payout to be eligible.
  • Market wage adjustment for Steps 1-7 effective first full pay period after ratification based on the Hospital’s research of local market wages in addition to across-the-board raises

  • If PHSW nurses receive or agree to new incentive pay or bonus programs within 12 months of ratification, St. John’s agrees to negotiate proposals that WSNA brings forwards at St. John’s.
  • There is a cap on the number of times management can place RNs on mandatory overtime of no more than twice in a six-month period. If an RN is placed on mandatory overtime more frequently than that, the RN receives an additional $20/hr

  • New Holiday Call pay - $5.25/hr. on recognized holidays
  • Increase to call pay to $4.60/hr.

  • Bereavement leave is now four scheduled days
  • Staffing Committee: Nurse Representative can now attend. CNO will make a good faith effort to attend as well.
  • Charge nurses will primarily precept charge and relief charge nurses whenever possible
  • Nurses being oriented can self-evaluate in addition to the charge nurses
  • The Hospital clarified that the “12%” limit in the mandatory low census language (Art. 6.9.6) refers expressly to mandatory low census – not voluntary.
