De-mystifying WSNA Membership

Being a part of WSNA is the same as being a part of a team. The goal of this team? To improve and uphold pay, benefits, working conditions, and other workplace policies with a single, strong, unified voice. We can only win if everyone is playing their part. The good news is, there are many ways that you can help our team be successful!

The most direct way you can help: Become a Steward!

Help our team stay strong and unified by being a Union Steward. Formerly known as a Unit Rep, Stewards are the constant union presence on the floor, ensuring that members’ rights are respected and that the contract is upheld. Stewards don’t know everything, and they don’t pretend to, but they know who to reach out to if something feels… not quite right.

Wear Blue on Wednesdays!

One of the easiest (and more fun) ways to show your support for a fair contract is to participate in Blue Wednesday! This means that every Wednesday through the end of bargaining, wear all of the union blue that you have. It is okay if you don’t have specific WSNA gear. If you’re stumped, think about how you might support your favorite sports team and just have fun with it! Be our team’s biggest fan and have a blast while showing support for better nurse wages and working conditions.

Grab your popcorn and RSVP for a front-row seat to watch the art of negotiation in action!

Curious to see how the sausage is made? Bargaining can be a long process full of legalese, but it can also be fascinating to watch happen. Come support our bargaining team for a few hours or a day, bringing snacks to share is highly encouraged, and for those interested, we will have “corporate lingo bingo” sheets so you can have a friendly competition with your co-workers to see who catches some of the most obnoxious phrases in action.

Every other Friday, officers and members of our bargaining team will be hosting drop-in meet and greet at Magnuson Brewery

Local Unit Meeting at the Mountaineers Club on August 2.  More details to come.
