No Pay Protection Plan Settlement – Congratulations!
Posted May 8, 2025
Bellevue Surgery Center Nurses please check to see if you received the appropriate number of hours deposited in your No Pay Banks. As you may recall, a grievance was filed at the end of 2023. At that time, WSNA Members raised concern about not receiving hours in their No Pay Banks. The issues had been escalated to Management and were not properly resolved. So, we filed an Association Grievance based on the following:
‘SCH propagated incorrect information regarding the No Pay Protection Plan MOU and failed to apply call hours worked to NPA bank since January 2020. Management was aware that ETM restricted nurses from entering NPA code for proper payment.’
Seattle Children’s Hospital is depositing the hours that impacted members should have accrued ‘going back to January 2020’ based on a settlement that was reached between WSNA and SCH. See settlement language below:
1. Retroactive application of call hours that haven't already been deposited, going back to January 2020. Hours would be deposited into the No Pay Protection Plan banks for impacted WSNA members.
- Impacted individuals: WSNA members currently employed at SCH that are, or have been employed at BSC, during the identified time frame and were enrolled in the No Pay Protection Plan.
2. Effective on the January 6, 2025 schedule, call shifts will no longer be scheduled at Bellevue Surgery Center. We will honor the use of previously accrued NPP hours allowing use of the NPP hours through exhaustion.
Upcoming Deadline
If you did not receive your hours or you received an incorrect number of hours, we need to hear from you right away! Please reach out via email no later than May 22, 2025. If you know someone who has transferred out of the BSC, please pass this information along.
Thank you for speaking up! TOGETHER we WIN!
