WSNA bargaining update

On April 28, 2022, our contract bargaining team met with hospital administration for our second negotiation session. We spent a large chunk of the day engaging in a presentation from Seattle Children’s hospital administration on workplace violence. Seattle Children’s hospital administration’s presentation focused on signage, updated processes, modules and in person training related to workplace violence prevention using an anti-racist lens.

We didn’t reach any substantive tentative agreements. However, hospital administration proposed changes to low census, greater control over health testing and mandatory and voluntary furlough language. WSNA proposed that RN’s who work a 0.6 qualify for a sabbatical (currently only RNs with a 0.75 FTE or greater qualify for sabbatical).

Our next bargaining session is on May 19.

Thank you to all of the nurses who wore a “I Support My Bargaining Team” sticker on April 27 and April 28! “I Support My Bargaining Team” buttons and window/car signs are coming!
