Negotiation Update #15

On April 20, 2023, we met with the County for our 15th session. Prior to our session, a delegation of Staff and Supervisor nurses delivered our solidarity petition with a shared address by over two dozen nurses, to the office of the King County Executive. Thank you to all who participated in our unified action! Throughout our petition drive we have continued to meet with management at the bargaining table. We are pleased to report that our efforts over these past months have led to significant movement on several of the nurses’ top priorities, especially with respect to the staffing crisis in JHS. That is very encouraging

One of the remaining areas of bargaining pertains to the work performed by the Community Health Services nurses. For that reason, we supported the County’s idea to bring additional CHS representatives to the table for the next session. We will continue drilling down into specific aspects of CHS work and its alignment with the mission of Public Health at the County. We are pressing to bring bargaining to a conclusion. For bargaining progress detail with each session, read updates on this page.
