Vaccine mandate information

Your WSNA officers are negotiating with King County to bargain the effects of the King County Executive’s mandate on vaccine requirements. This mandate is not dissimilar to the Governor’s statewide proclamation. While we continue to bargain, we want to share important dates and information.

Important Dates

  • Sept. 6 is the last day you can receive the Moderna vaccine and still be fully vaccinated by Oct. 18 (because of the waiting period). This assumes you will get your second dose exactly four weeks after Sept. 6, which may not be possible.
  • Sept. 13 is the last day you can receive the Pfizer vaccine and still be fully vaccinated by Oct. 18 (because of the waiting period). This assumes you will get your second dose exactly three weeks after Sept. 13, which may not be possible.
  • Sept. 18 is the date by which King County would like employees to have submitted their requests for religious or medical accommodation exemptions. Getting them in early is important as they will be reviewed by a committee and this will take time.

Vaccine Verification

If or when you become fully vaccinated, do not assume that your employer has this information. Getting the vaccine at a public health location does not mean that those who are keeping track are aware of this. You should take action to ensure that you have provided required proof of vaccination for verification. You have several options for doing so:

  • Initiating the COVID-19 Vaccination Declaration process through your NEOGOV Dashboard Click on Dashboard > Forms > COVID-19 Vaccination Declaration and attach a copy of an official document, OR
  • Present your COVID vaccine documentation to an HR professional or other designated department representative (i.e Employee Health)

Acceptable forms of documentation for any method listed above includes:

  1. your actual vaccination card, or a photo or a copy of it,
  2. a copy of your state vaccine record, or
  3. a verified medical record.

Exemptions

If you wish to apply for a medical or religious exemption, please contact:
