Celebration of Life for Doug Brant, Providence VNA RN Candlelight Vigil

“Because we are not meant to grieve alone.”

We were heartbroken to learn of the murder of a valued home-health nurse and WSNA member, Doug Brant, on Dec. 1. This is devastating to his family, his patients, his colleagues at Providence VNA, and to WSNA’s staff.

Doug was treasurer of WSNA at Providence VNA and was looking forward to advocating for nurses at WSNA’s annual Lobby Day. Doug lost his life while on the job, and workplace violence has become an all-too-familiar part of the job for nurses. The nurses of VNA remember Doug as being someone who would always be willing to help in a time of need, as well as surprising his patients by showcasing his guitar talents. All of Spokane will truly feel the loss of such a treasured nurse.

Please save the date for an upcoming candlelight vigil, on December 21 at Riverfront Park near the water fountain, honoring Doug Brant VNA RN, his dedication and service. We will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please come and invite all families, friends, and fellow nurses. Sign in at the blue awning upon arrival.
