DOH Success!

We received great news from DOH, who chose to cite TG for not reviewing or investigating a patient injury after it was reported to management. Nurses have been expressing concern that patient safety is an issue throughout TG and we filed this complaint based on those concerns.

We know that that patient well being is foremost in the nurse’s minds, and we want to hear from you if you feel that patients are not getting the best care they can from TG. Please remember to fill out ADO’s to document unsafe conditions and contact your nurse rep if you feel that it requires additional attention.

DOSH Investigation Wrapping Up:

Earlier this year we filed a complaint with DOSH regarding the safety of our nurses in the workplace. This included unsafe practices that led to multiple outbreaks in the facility. Employee interviews concluded this week, and the investigation will now enter the review process. We will let you know as soon as we hear from them.

We had a great turn-out of nurse volunteers for this investigation. Huge thanks to all nurses who spoke to DOSH and told your stories!

Worker’s Comp Suppression:

We have been hearing rumors for months that TG has discouraged nurses from filing Worker’s Comp claims when nurses are exposed to COVID or have become symptomatic due to job related exposure.

L&I has initiated a Worker’s Comp Suppression investigation into hospitals who have discouraged or failed to notify employees of their Worker’s Comp rights. They are also interested in employees who were forced to use their PTO for quarantine or to recover from COVID, as well as cases where it was determined that the exposure was community acquired without an independent review of the circumstances.
