WSNA Food Drive: Every Nurse, Every Unit, Standing Together

As we continue our fight for fair contracts at Tacoma General and the Mary Bridge NICU, we have an opportunity to show the strength of our unity and our commitment to the community we serve. Nurses know better than anyone that healthcare extends far beyond the bedside. When our community struggles, our patients struggle. When our hospitals fall short, nurses step up.

On 11/25/2025, WSNA will host a food drive to support families in Pierce County facing food insecurity. We are calling on every nurse to take part. Even a single donated item from each of us will add up to an incredible show of solidarity and compassion.

Donation locations and times

Tacoma General Cafeteria from 0630 to 1400
Auburn Corporate Center Bargaining Table from 0800 to 1600

Why We Are Asking Every Nurse to Participate

This food drive is a visible reminder of who we are as professionals and as a union. When we show up together, our message is powerful. A fair contract is about safe staffing, respect, and wages that allow nurses to stay in the profession. It is also about ensuring that our hospitals can truly serve the needs of our community.

The size of our collective donation will directly show management how committed nurses are to each other and to the community. A strong turnout sends a clear message that nurses are united, engaged, and ready to stand together for what we deserve at the bargaining table.

What to Bring

Any nonperishable food item is welcome. Canned goods, boxed meals, pasta, sauces, rice, baby food, and other pantry staples are all appreciated. If every nurse brings even one item, the impact will be significant.

How You Can Help Strengthen Our Collective Voice

• Bring at least one item
• Encourage your unit and coworkers to participate
• Stop by the collection tables to show support for your bargaining team
• Share the drive information widely across your units and teams

This is our moment to stand shoulder to shoulder and demonstrate the unity that drives our campaign for a fair contract. Together, we can support our community, uplift each other, and show what nurses can accomplish when we act as one.
