January 2021 Virginia Mason WSNA newsletter

Happy New Year!

Let’s start off with some great news. You should see your wage increases effective 1/1/2021 per contract.

2020 was a year that no one would have predicted the impact nurses would have. We know the past months have been scary, with the ever changing environment of COVID. We are here for you, please reach out to one of your Virginia Mason officers or your WSNA Nurse Rep with any specific COVID concerns.

It's important for nurses to engage in self-care because as the old adage goes, "You can't pour from an empty cup". Nurses have to take care of themselves to do their jobs effectively and be the best caregiver to their patients that they can be.

Later this month we will be sending out a survey to prep for contract negotiations. Be on the watch for that. If you would like to be more involved with the union please reach out to the officers or your nurse rep.
