Attention Charge Nurses - Survey

On Monday, August 11, Virginia Mason will be sending out access to a survey which charge nurses must fill out at the end of the shift. If you are not a charge nurse, this does not apply to you, and you will not receive any notification.

The survey was produced by both WSNA and VM.  This survey will ask questions about whether or not you had a patient assignment and to provide details if you did, if you provided break relief during the shift or, if break buddies were used. We are asking everyone to please help provide this information and to do so accurately, not as you think management or WSNA would want the answers to be or how you would want them to be. We do understand nurses have different rationales for decision making around how proceed on a shift when making decisions involving staffing.  There will be no retaliation or repercussions for filling out this information.

As many know, WSNA filed a grievance related to charge nurses taking assignments, the use of charge nurses for break relief and the use of break buddies. We are set to proceed with arbitration in September however, the parties are working to see if there is a possible solution and settlement possibility.  To do so, we need this information.  Thank you for your help!
