VIRGINIA MASON - CHI FRANCISCAN JOINT OPERATING COMPANY

Sign the open letter to Gary Kaplan, CEO of Virginia Mason, expressing your concerns about the proposed Joint Operating Company between CHI and VM. Let him know that cutting essential services to our patients will have a detrimental effect on our community, particularly for the elderly, POC, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Sign the open letter

As an RN at Virginia Mason, you have a right to sign this open letter without fear of retaliation. In fact your decision to join with your colleagues in taking this action is protected under federal labor law. It’s time to take this action together and support the culture of care our patients deserve and the community has come to expect of VM. Let’s take this stand together!

CHRONIC SHORT STAFFING

Nurses recognize the importance of proper nurse to patient ratios in order to provide safe care. WSNA has received many complaints from our members about chronic short staffing issues at Virginia Mason. We know this is not safe for you or your patients.

Advocate for yourselves and for your patients by filling out an Assignment Despite Objection form every time you or your unit is suffering from short staffing issues. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete and is your only legal protection against unsafe working environments.

Online ADO form

Always fill out the form online to ensure a record is sent to your union reps as well as leadership. As always, reach out to your unit rep, officers or WSNA Nurse Rep if you have any questions or concerns.
