Wage increase coming!

Last November, following WSNA’s continued requests over many months to provide a mid-contract across-the-board wage increase, VM finally offered 4%. At that time, we conveyed to VM leadership that while it was an improvement, VM was still at a significant disadvantage in the Seattle-Tacoma area but VM refused to provide additional increases. In the months since, VM has continued to struggle to attract and retain nursing staff. Your WSNA officers and staffing committee members have continued to push in both Safe Staffing and Conference Committee for the hospital to come back to us with another increase. Your commitment to detailing the dire staffing situation in ADO submissions has played a significant role in highlighting this issue. This past week, VM entered discussions with us again regarding another increase.

VM has agreed to an 8% across-the-board wage increase to the ADN scale effective the beginning of the March 19 pay period. BSNs will receive an additional $1 and MSN will receive $2. You can find the MOU in the links bar on the local unit web page, where we will post the fully executed version as soon as it is available. We will be entering into bargaining for your next increase in the months to come. Your current contract expires at the end of August. If you are interested in being on the negotiation team to advocate on behalf of your peers for contract improvements and better working conditions, please fill out this form:
