Update on bonus and vaccine mandate impacts bargaining

Bonuses

On Friday, Sept. 17, we heard that PVNA Management chose to withhold the bonuses of the hard-working nurses. Nurses reached out to us with great concern, as they should, so we have compiled information to catch you up on what has transpired on this important issue.

On Sept. 2, Management notified WSNA they would be implementing a bonus structure unilaterally. The following day, WSNA sent a demand to bargain letter immediately over the bonus structure because anything that has to do with wages, hours and working conditions are mandatory subjects of bargaining. Management did not respond to our letter of demand, in fact we felt ignored. Because of this, on Sept. 14, we sent a formal proposal to management with a fair bonus structure that was more lucrative than what they were currently offering the nurses of PVNA. In addition, it was a proposal that Providence had already agreed to at other units. Again, there was no response or follow up.

On Monday, Sept. 20, Nurse Rep Jaclyn Smedley, BSN, RN, sent yet another email asking management for an update as to what was occurring. As of yet, we have not heard a response from Management.
WSNA feels you are worthy of a bonus and deserve more than what is being offered. We are working to do all we can for the bonus to be timely and not delayed. Right now, the ball is in management’s court.

We will continue to keep you informed on updates as they come. If you are not on the PVNA Facebook page, this is a great way to get up to date information. Ask to join “Providence VNA Home Health RNs” and if you are a nurse of the WSNA bargaining unit, you will be allowed to join. Only nurses of WSNA are admitted to the page.

Vaccine mandate impacts bargaining is finished!

We are pleased to announce the negotiations for impacts bargaining around the Aug. 9 Gov. Inslee mandate are complete. To view the terms and conditions of the recently bargained MOU use the button below:
