Introducing WSNA Nurse Representative

WSNA Tara pic

Please join me in welcoming Tara Barnes BSN, RN as the oncoming WSNA nurse rep for Whatcom County Health District. Tara has been a licensed RN in Washington for 31 years in subacute and long-term care; pediatric home care; acute, outpatient and intensive care in the hospital setting; and as a clinical instructor. She joined WSNA as staff in 2017, after having served as a union officer at two hospitals in King County.

She is looking forward to collaborating with you and your local unit officers as you approach contract negotiations with the County next month. Tara also works with staff nurses at the Seattle King County HD and Overlake Hospital Medical Center. I will be assisting with any ongoing issues as I transition to supporting our other bargaining units. Please direct new issues to Tara tbarnes@wsna.org so she and your WSNA local unit officers can help you going forward.

I appreciate all of you, and the work we did while I was with your unit.

Sincerely,
Barbara Friesen
