Update on wage bargaining

Your bargaining team met today for our third session. We are bargaining wages as part of a wage reopener agreement in the current contract. Your team presented a counter proposal which continues to push for competitive wages so that nurses who live on the island don’t leave and will attract others from other surrounding areas. Your team is seeking to secure wages that honor experience and provide for improved step increases for longevity. It is imperative to be able to recruit and retain so the hospital can decrease its reliance on expensive travelers. Management has stated they share our goals and will be prepared to give counter at our next session on June 5.

Your Team - Luka Cobb, Laura Black, Ann Bell, and Gwen Parrick
