Great news

During bargaining last year, WSNA secured language that requires Whidbey to establish a program that allows nurses to secure loans using their 457(b) Retirement Plan. We are pleased to announce that Whidbey will soon be implementing this change.

This is a big win for those who would like to take advantage of a loan program for personal needs using their own money!

WhidbeyHealth (the “Employer”) and the Washington State Nurses Association (“Union”) hereby agree to the following: The Employer is committed to providing a loan option with its 457(b) Retirement Plan available to bargaining unit employees.  Such loan option shall be available to active and eligible employees no later than July of 2026.  The Employer will provide the Union with no fewer than sixty (60) days notification prior to implementation to the plan changes involving this loan option. The Union will provide feedback to the Employer on the plan changes involving this loan option no fewer than thirty (30) days following receipt of such notification.  The Employer reserves the right to establish additional loan eligibility requirements, repayment requirements, as well as borrowing limits consistent with IRS regulations and the Plan documents.
