Petition Time
In every cycle of bargaining, we come to a point where management does not seem to believe that as we negotiate for better wages and working conditions, we are acting as representatives of every single nurse in this hospital.
We need to make it clear that EVERY NURSE cares about the future of the nursing profession at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Where’s Bonnie?
As we close in on our contract expiration on August 31, we can’t help but ask… where’s Bonnie?
We’re knee-deep in negotiations for a fair contract, yet our Chief Nursing Officer is MIA. Is there anything more crucial than the 2,200+ nurses who work tirelessly for our community's kids? What are we missing?
On day one, we stressed the need for the CNO's presence with a letter that we read to management. Did Bonnie get the memo? We're not sure.
Join us at the SCH RN town hall this Tuesday at 7:30 am as we urge Bonnie (again) to join the negotiations impacting no less than THOUSANDS.

Children’s Case Managers and Utilization Managers Win Election
The RNs in the Care Management department won their election with 88% support. The Tuesday vote count finalized their push to join our WSNA bargaining unit after significant pushback from Management.
The case managers, utilization managers, and TLC care managers joined WSNA to make their voices heard. Over the past few months, their temporary manager has unilaterally changed their work location and eliminated their flexibility. In response, we’re pushing for a contract to preserve their ability to do their work. Be sure to congratulate them on their win when you see them!

Observer Spotlight
Rebecca Long, SCH NICU
“I deeply appreciate the work everyone is doing. I know my one day of observation was just a small glimpse into the full scope of this process, but I was so impressed by the level of preparation, the passion, and the thoughtful advocacy from everyone involved. The amount of work being done outside the formal bargaining sessions was evident, and it really showed how committed the team is to fighting for a fair contract for the SCH nurses.
Everyone was thoughtful, engaging, strategizing and bringing so many valuable perspectives. Everything they were fighting for really aligned with what I’ve been hearing from other nurses and matched my own hopes for the contract too.”
Upcoming bargaining dates for August:
Tuesday, August 5 (Tukwila)
Wednesday, August 6 (Seattle)
Thursday, August 7 (Tukwila)
