Can you believe it’s already been a week since Confluence nurses voted to form a single bargaining unit? We know nurses want updates on what happens next. Read on for a message from your bargaining team and more details about when you’ll see wage updates, backpay, and more information about transitioning to Confluence’s 403(b).

After reflecting on all the challenges Mares Campus nurses faced getting to this point – including their fight to win union protection in the first place, the many months they spent at the bargaining table, and the final sprint to a contract last week – Megan Baute from the Mares Campus bargaining team had the following thoughts to share with her coworkers:

“What a long and bumpy road we’ve traveled. It’s been over 3 years since this process began and it’s been messy and confusing at times, but we kept fighting and I’m so glad we did. We got some big wins for the nurses of Confluence Health and the Mares nurses are looking forward to being part of the whole to make this valley Union strong.

 Thank you WSNA for never giving up and continuing to fight on our behalf and thank you to the nurses who voted. We appreciate your solidarity. We look forward to working together on this next chapter for all nurses in Wenatchee, Omak, and Moses Lake. All of us. Together we are WSNA."

Mares nurses became part of the main Confluence Health bargaining unit last Thursday when voting concluded. That means most of the terms in WSNA’s contract with Confluence Health are in effect now at Mares, with wage increases and the 403(b) retirement plan rolling out over the coming weeks. Here’s when you’ll see those updates:

• Paychecks will reflect Confluence Health’s Central wage scale: Friday, 5/29 payday
• Backpay applying Central’s wage scale from 9/14/25 to now: Friday, 5/29 payday
• Transition from 401(k) to 403(b) for eligible employees: no later than end of 5/10-5/23 pay period

Nurses should expect to get more information about how to transition from the 401(k) to the 403(b) from Confluence over the next few weeks. We’ll share updates and more information on that process as soon as we have them.
