Join nurses, educators, students, and allies for a day of learning, connection, and transformation. This interactive symposium centers the voices and leadership of nurses of color and creates space for dialogue, healing, and action.

Through workshops and small group discussion, we’ll explore how to influence nursing policy, decolonize nursing education and practice, and build healing-centered approaches to advocacy.

Featured Sessions

Policy in Practice: Reclaiming Power in Nursing Systems
Facilitator: Genevieve Aguilar, MPA, BSN, RN

A hands-on session focused on the role of nurses in shaping structural change through policy, emphasizing the importance of accountability in the policy-making process.

Decolonizing Nursing Education and Practice
Facilitators: Rebeca Allen, MN, RN & Antwinett O. Lee, EdD, MSN-CNS, RN

A session focused on interactive group work on identifying and dismantling colonial legacies in nursing education and practice, with an emphasis on the accountability of institutions in this decolonization process.

Panel Discussion: Opportunities for Civic Engagement for Nurses
Moderator: Sofia Aragon, JD, BSN, RN, FAAN, & WCN Executive Director

Engaging dialogue on navigating nursing policy at local, state, and federal levels with community and nursing policy leaders.
