Legislative session
Each year, the legislature convenes for a new session, and we use this opportunity to advocate for issues important to nurses and improving patient safety.
Legislative priorities
As Washington State is facing a short, 60-day legislative session and a significant budget deficit, WSNA has selected the following priorities aimed at protecting and strengthening the nursing workforce and profession, while also protecting access to safe, affordable, quality healthcare for all.

Legislative & Health Policy Council
The Legislative and Health Policy Council sets the annual health policy and legislative agenda for WSNA and plays an active role in reviewing and advancing WSNA’s legislative priorities.
