SEATTLE (Oct. 7, 2022) — Nurses at the UW Medicine Montlake and Northwest campuses got an early surprise. They reached a tentative agreement Sept. 30 — nine months before their contract expires.

In just three bargaining sessions, the hospital system agreed to raise salaries 21% over the next two years; 23% for nurses early in their careers. The first raise (5%) is retroactive to Aug. 1, 2022; the second raise (4%) is on Jan. 1, 2023; third raise (9%) on July 1, 2023; final raise (3%) on July 1, 2024. Additionally, nurses on wage steps 1-5 will get an additional 2% raise on Jan. 1, 2023.
