The Washington State Medical Association is the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit filed against the federal government over removal of public health data this year from websites.
The lawsuit includes WSMA and eight co-plaintiffs, including the state nurses association and the state chapter of pediatricians. The lawsuit aims to stop the federal government, as directed by the Trump administration, from deleting public health and science data.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle, would require the administration to restore deleted websites and stop further removal of public health data.
